What is the Lutheran Church?
Catholic
The Lutheran church is part of the great Christian tradition (catholic) which goes back to the Apostles. Belonging to this deep and beautiful tradition protects and guides us in staying faithful to the Christian faith.
Evangelical
The word “evangelical” describes the good news of Jesus as Savior of the world. The Lutheran church proclaims this good news as the foundation of our relationship with God and one another.
Biblical
The Lutheran church believes the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, are God’s Word to the world and it is in them that we find Jesus. We believe an accurate summary of the teachings of Scripture are articulated in the Lutheran Confessions.
Sacramental
The Lutheran church believes what the Bible and the great Christian tradition teaches that God miraculously works in and through baptism and the Lord’s Supper to bestow His grace and forgiveness to us.
Global
Lutherans around the world are united by a common confession of faith in the Lutheran Confessions. Lutheranism makes up the second largest Protestant theological tradition in the world.
Our Affiliations
Trinity is a member of the Association Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC). The AFLC is a fellowship of likeminded congregations, within the Lutheran tradition, who have come together for the purpose of accomplishing service in the Kingdom of God that cannot best be done alone.
