Welcome!

No matter where you are at in your journey of faith, welcome you with open arms into our parish family. We are all sinners saved by grace in Christ Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit’s work, seek to grow in faith, hope, and love as we are conformed to His image.

Our Mission:

Sharing Together in the Renewing Life of God with the people of San Antonio.

Humans are created to live in communion with their Creator. By eating of the fruit of the tree, sin entered the world bringing separation and death. Our Lord Jesus Christ, through his death and resurrection, came to that destroy sin and death and restore life. By eating of first tree, came death - by eating of the second Tree, comes life. Christ Jesus has given his life that we might have life in Him. (John 10). We seek to be a church that abides in His life as we gather around Word and Sacrament, and as we share that life in the world.

You make known to me the path of life;
 in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
(Psalm 16:11)

We live out our mision of sharing together in God’s life through our five anchors:

  1. BELONG - Embody God’s love for every person in every situation.

  2. GATHER - Worship of God and celebration of the Sacraments in the Divine Service is the foundation of everything we do.

  3. GROW - Continual pursuit of spiritual formation and growth.

  4. SERVICE - Live out Jesus’ call of service to one another by serving near and far.

  5. GIVE - Donate our time and monetary resources to build up the Kingdom of God and make a lasting difference.

Our Beliefs

We desire to live out the faith in faithfulness to the Holy Scriptures as it has been received and carried on by the historic Christian Church throughout the centuries, as well as communicate this same faith in ways that engage our world today. We are a Confessional Lutheran Church meaning our beliefs are articulated in the Book of Concord. Our beliefs are summed up in the following:

The apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Amen.

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only‐begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

Luther's Small Catechism

Written to be used as a resource for parents to teach their children the Christian faith, the Small Catechism continues to serve as a faithful and helpful guide in summarizing the Christian faith for us today. PDF.

The Augsburg Confession

The Augsburg Confession is the classic summary of what Lutherans believe about God, humanity, sin, faith, the church, and the sacraments.

Our Values

The values of Trinity are those convictions and practices that shape our daily life.

the Gospel

The great news (gospel) of Christianity is that through faith in Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven and that we can live with peace before God. This good news isn't just a starting place, it's the very core of what shapes who we are as a people.

Friendships

God has graciously placed others in our lives as a means of caring for us. It is especially through the relationships we build within the local church that we come to know God's love and by which we are formed into the people of God.

spiritual Formation

We are called and desire to be formed into the image of Jesus Christ. This process of formation is the essence of Christian discipleship. It is a lifelong process in which the Holy Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and a heart of generosity towards those around us.

Historical Worship

Gathering together as believers in Christ is not just a thing we do but it is the event where God is coming, speaking, giving, and renewing us. We come with a joyful reverence as we stand in the presence of a holy God. Our worship is shaped by the historic Church throughout the ages.

Generosity & Hospitality

Because of God's generosity towards us through Jesus, we are now freed and empowered to love those around us. We love because He first loved us. We seek to be a people of self-giving in every area of life: time, treasure, and talents.

Multiplication

God is building His kingdom one soul at a time and we have the privilege to be instruments of that work. We desire to see disciples of Jesus multiplied, leaders released, and new congregations established.

Our Identity

Word :: We believe that God’s Word brings life and is our final and ultimate authority.  The Bible is God’s Word and contains all things necessary for salvation.  Both the Old Testament and New Testament were written to proclaim God’s great story and to call, equip, and empower God’s people for missional living.

Sacrament :: Sacrament is an outward sign of an inward grace.  We become more fully aware of the beauty of God’s grace and truth by what is seen and touched.  When we share communion at the Lord’s table, it acknowledges the reality that we are both united to Christ and to God’s people. The different movements in our worship service are grounded in the historic rhythms of the church and reflect the various aspects of the Gospel.

Spirit :: We believe God is present and active in our lives through His Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit fills us with His presence, empowers us to grow, and gives gifts as He sends us on mission.  We look forward to His work of the conviction of sin, illumination of truth, and the renewal of all things.
